Traditional Herbal Extract

There are some plants that seem to follow people through history, and yarrow is one of them. Growing wild along meadows, pastures, roadsides, and forgotten patches of ground, this hardy little herb has found its way into the baskets and herb cupboards of generations before us.

Perhaps best known as an old-fashioned wound herb, yarrow was traditionally gathered for cuts and wounds and became especially known for helping staunch bleeding. Even its botanical name, Achillea millefolium, carries a bit of legend—connecting the plant to the warrior Achilles and yarrow's centuries-old reputation as a battlefield herb.

But yarrow was never kept around for just one purpose. Herbalists brewed it into teas, tucked it into tinctures, and prepared washes and poultices, traditionally reaching for it during feverish seasonal illnesses, digestive troubles, and for circulation and urinary wellness. It also found a special place in women's herb cupboards, particularly around the monthly cycle and menstrual comfort.

Bitter, aromatic, a little wild, and remarkably resilient, yarrow is one of those humble plants with an awfully long story to tell.

And ours begins out in the wild.

We wild-forage our yarrow ourselves, gathering it by hand where it grows naturally before bringing it home to tincture in small batches. With its long history as a multipurpose household herb, yarrow is a natural addition to the home herb cupboard, travel bag, or traditional herbal first-aid kit.
